ITU AbsorbTech acquires Milwaukee-based Spic and Span

March 27, 2018
NEW BERLIN, Wis. – New Berlin-based ITU AbsorbTech announced today that it has acquired assets from Spic and Span, a uniform rental and industrial supply company based in Milwaukee.
“Spic and Span has been a great competitor of ITU AbsorbTech for a long time,” Jim Leef, third-generation president and owner of ITU AbsorbTech, said. “Its customers are a great fit for us. We look forward to providing them with the high level of service they’re accustomed to receiving.”
Spic and Span, Inc. will cease operation at the end of business March 30. ITU AbsorbTech will begin servicing the acquired customer locations April 2 out of its processing plants in New Berlin and Neenah, Wisconsin.
“The time was right as a number of our employees, including myself, wanted to retire,” Bob Miller, President of Spic and Span said. “It was important that our 116-year commitment to customer service continue and turning that responsibility over to the Leefs will make it so.”
ITU AbsorbTech has provided industrial services in support of cleaner, safer and more productive work environments since 1930. ITU AbsorbTech’s sustainable solutions include reusable and professionally laundered absorbents, towels, mops, floor mats and cotton roll towels.
ITU AbsorbTech, Inc. is a family-owned and operated company with 13 locations throughout the eastern half of the United States.
